On 24 December 08, Chinese hackers once again defaced the Yasukuni Shrine website. Here is a little background from The Dark Visitor:

(Cyber Conflict of 2001)

August of 2001 would again see attacks on Japanese web sites in response to former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi’s visit to the controversial Yasukuni war memorial. Chinese hackers struck first on 13 August, attacking the server for the Japan Meteorological Agency. Following that, a large number of Japanese government web sites were attacked, such as “the Chemicals Evaluation and Research Institute, the the Defense Systems Research Committee, the Central Convention Service, Inc., the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, the Defense Facilities Administration Agency, the Communications Research Laboratory, and web sites for members of Parliament. The Honker Union of China issued the following statement:

“Prime Minister Koizumi, in defiance of the protests across Asia and of those seeking peace within Japan, made a public visit to the Yasukuni Shrine, a shrine which symbolizes Japanese militarism. This error by a Japanese leader has been gravely hurtful to the peoples of Asia especially to the feelings of the people of China, who were harmed most deeply. Together with the issue of the textbooks, this stain is embodied by how the Japanese authorities treat this error without the slightest sense of repentance. Immediately upon learning of this the Honkers convened a portion of its members to a meeting to discuss a strategy in response to this sudden incident. The final decision, taken prior to our country having expressed its protest to Japan, was to use our skills to express the solemn and just protest of this youthful Internet generation against the new Japanese government, and its strong dissatisfaction with the leaders of Japan. The Honker Union, in this emergency action, has replaced the main pages of the following government web sites in Japan. This is in no way inconsistent with our efforts to promote the Honker spirit. The Honker Union expresses its regret that this matter has occurred, and takes responsibility for the attacks on the web sites listed below. History should not be ignored. How can the truth be changed? We win respect by counterattacking. We are in the right!”

Just going to change the name of the blog to the Xiao Tian Show and call it a day. Even though Chinese hackers are now constantly worrying about the Olympics getting hacked, Xiao Tian has managed to remain in the spotlight. The latest articles making the rounds about Xiao Tian still summarize the interview with the Daily News and Analysis, just with the addition of a defacement:

The first reference I can find of this defacement indicates it took place in September of 2006, to protest Prime Minister Koizumi’s visit to the Yasukuni Shrine. Several people posting think it was done by a female hacker due to the signature line that translates to something like, “the girl pissing on the Yasukuni toilet.”

The article uses the screen shot to demonstrate how ferocious female Chinese hacker can be and does not attribute it to Xiao Tian. Plus, we know our gal would never use such vulgar language. She saves all that built up nationalist energy for the dance floor:

FROM Xiao Tian’s blog: She is on the left in black and says to ignore the other girl in the short skirt. As a matter of fact, Xiao Tian wants you to know she hates that girl. Apparently, the DJ pushed the girl up on the stage so the two could dance together. Xiao Tian doesn’t have kind words for the DJ either. Also, she claims to have been a bit nervous on stage, so these are not her best dance moves.

That is why you come here, for the culture. Now, back to your nerdly doings.

From the Heilongjiang Daily, via News China, a 19-year-old Chinese hacker going by the online name of Autumn Breeze decided to deface the main page of the… Daqing Public Security Bureau website … and leave behind several taunting messages to include his contact information. Brilliant!

According to the report, Autumn Breeze felt that his skills at hacking were so good there was no way he could get caught. Well, it did take the police a little over an hour to track him down…so he has that going for him.

On 12 June, police who were working online discovered that a hacker had managed to gain access to the Daqing Public Sercurity Bureau website and leave behind several taunting messages:

“So, basically Daqing doesn’t have a cyber police force?”

“Do the cyber police just get paid to do nothing?”

“Is the software installed on the internet cafes used by the cyber police to collect fees?”

He also left behind the name “Autumn Breeze” and his e-mail contact information.

Under the direction of Captain Liu, of the Daqing Cyber Police, officers were able to track Autumn Breeze to a local internet cafe and arrest him while in the process of attacking another website. Autumn Breeze made a full confession saying, “Oh, you get paid to do this!”

Yeah, I may have fudged that last quote a bit.

For some this may be a familiar face, for the rest, let me introduce Sunwear. We met Mr. Sunwear back in November, when he was doing bad things to Japanese websites and leaving some rather crude defacements. Sunwear and a friend of his named Kitty became so upset at the attention he was receiving on the blog that they left comments imploring us to remove the article. No such luck for him.

So, did Sunwear swear off his life of crime, turn over a new leaf and devote his life to charity? No such luck for me:

Hackers eating hackers! Great stuff. In May of this year, one Chinese hacker guy wanted to register with www.chinahacker.com as the “Professional Pervert”. Site admin was having none of it and told him that the name “Professional Pervert” was not allowed. Well Mr. Arrogant chinahacker.com, kiss your website goodbye in… 5,4,3,2,1:

Moral of the story, never piss off a guy who’s mad computer hacking skills are better than yours. The rest of the article is an interview with “Professional Pervert” explaining how he was able to deface the site. He explains in step-by-step detail how he accomplished this using a MAC ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) attack. Not a clue. Antionline may have summed it up here, or posted a chicken soup recipe for all I know…didn’t understand their stuff either.
