China: 338 Million internet users, 13 million websites

China Daily reporting the new numbers from CNNIC on internet growth in China:

- 338 million internet users, 13.4% increase since end of 2008

- 12.96 million websites holding .cn domain

- 155 million people access the internet via their mobile phone

- 87.88 million people shopping online, an increase of 14 million

- 320 million users have broadband

    How many of these .cn domains do they figure are actually legit? As I’m sure everyone knows, that’s a hugely popular spamming tld

    Honestly, I’m not sure if it is based on website registration through CNNIC or not. There is a requirement that all Chinese websites need to be registered.

    hmmm, nice stats…wish I could have at least 1% of that broadband group become my customers in the near future for the game i’m working on, shoot even .5% would be bigger then most US online games.

    I’ve also heard that it was Comrade Lenin’s quote. Either way, it was in reference to having lots of tanks I think.
