CBRP1R8,

One other thing comes to my mind, if 73% of users have pirated software that can be manipulated from updates, doesn't that pose a huge security vulnerability?

This is kind of interesting, i've been reading it here and on a few other sites and keeping up with it the last few days. The lawyer keeps going on about how this is similar to the company in china that released a logic bomb to all its users who had the software installed and it would only be caught by the non-pirated software and makes a comparison to that. I thought it was kinda interesting to see what the internal chinese poll said about it.

"Microsoft's plan has aroused huge controversy in China. According to a poll on Chinese portal QQ.com, out of 574,923 participants, 73.33 percent said they were using pirate versions of XP, 51.58 percent said they intend to continue using pirate versions, and 32.87 percent said they will ignore Microsoft's "black screen" campaign. Only 15.55 percent said they intend to buy an authorized version. 77.23 percent said they oppose Microsoft's action."

73% have pirated s/w....wow!
