Hey, a quick hello from Beijing. Unfortunately there aren’t as many wifi spots as I’d expected. I also can’t connect through a PPPoE connection on Ubuntu… argh. Cops everywhere. Stuff looks tight. There appears to be an army base next to the Bird’s Nest. Overall pretty sweet so far, tough!
Thanks for the update. Its nice to be “unblocked” but it doesn’t seem like we’re exactly getting a flood of Chinese visitors. Not sure if that means anything or not. Have fun and don’t eat too much heike candy.
Why can’t you use PPPoE in Ubuntu? It has a PPPoE package (though I’m not sure if it is installed by default).
